Pray for Bhutan

Aug 3, 2022 | 0 comments

Bhutan is small, landlocked country nestled deep in the Himalayas between India and China. It is characterized by steep mountains and deep valleys, which has led to most people living in small, scattered villages.

Bhutan is primarily a Buddhist country, with a tiny Christian community. Proselytization is illegal in Bhutan and so this puts pressure on our church family there, and affects what we can share here with you.

United Christian Fellowship (UCF) was established in the year 2011 at Phuentsholing, Bhutan, with six visionary families from different churches all having the same vision to reach the nation of Bhutan for Christ.

UCF began to grow in its number from 6 families to 40+ and hundreds have now been baptized and added into the fellowship. As a result of their heart to reach the lost it has given birth to six other small fellowships. Some fellowships have grown into fully-fledged churches. 2022 is the year of reaching the Ghalley people group in the southern part of Bhutan. We have been blessed to find men of peace in the villages of Chokorling and Jigmeling, in the Sarpang district.

Prayer Points:

1. Rup Narayan Ghalley is the first person along with his three daughters with whom we have shared the gospel. Pray that the Holy Spirit may continue to remind them of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and that they would be a family of peace to reach other Ghalley people in their village.

2. Pray that the power of the gospel may prevail in the lives of the Ghalley people group.

3. That God would raise up Ghalley believers with a heart to reach their own lost people group.

Please join us in praying for the work and move of God in this nation.
