Tanzanian Regions Beyond leaders visit Cape Town

Despite the Corona virus causing us to postpone our “Valuing our values” training in Cape Town, we were still able to host Emmanuel Sagenga and Theobady Mvungi, two of our Regions Beyond leaders of our churches in Tanzania. Their visit also coincided with a visit from Steve & Heather Oliver. So they got to spend a special time and receive some valuable input from Steve. This was an opportunity to learn more about the growth of our churches in that nation. They also visited some of our churches and meeting the Regions Beyond leaders in the Western Cape. They did a Study on the Leadership principles in Nehemiah, which they will in turn be doing with their leaders. They visited a church small groups and were fascinated by the freedom and openness of discussion and how people learned from one another. This was one thing they wanted to implement as soon as they returned. On the Saturday, they were interviewed at a Regions gathering of Churches in Cape Town. Many were impacted by their testimony of faithful service in often very difficult circumstances. God willing, we hope to send a team to Tanzania in September to build and strengthen our relationships.

Together with Steve in Cape Town

The Corona virus Pandemic has affected churches across the world and like for many, we have missed the in-person gatherings. On Saturday 22 May, we were finally able to have a Regions Beyond Gathering of our churches here in the Western Cape. This included a wonderful time of sung worship and some very uplifting words of exhortation.  Steve Oliver then had the opportunity to bring some inspiration as we looked to what God desires for us as we have already entered the “New Era.” We ended off by praying corporately for the Churches represented.
